Has anyone taught there?
There doesn't seem to be much online. |

I spent one year (Sep 2006 to July 2007) in Mianyang - left just before the earthquake !
At the time, it had the reputation of being China's cleanest ( or 2nd cleanest ? ) city ! It is only about 90 minutes, or so, from Chengdu.
Lots of FTs in the area - mostly working at SWUST, Tianfu College ( SWUFE) and some other uni ( just can't remember the name of it). When I was there, many of the FTs seemed to have frequented a bar called the Flags Tavern, run by a guy from the UK.It would be a good place to get info about other jobs in the area - and, possibly, in other parts of Sichuan province.
Some good restaurants in the area.
Overall, I enjoyed my time in Mianyang - probably the best small/medium-sized city that I have come across in China.
However, I'm not sure how badly affected Mianyang was by the earthquake.

I have taught there. Absolutely, stay away from there. The school has dumped teachers in the past by having them flown to Hong Kong. Mianyang is the earth quake region of China and has absolutely no redeeming characteristics. |
