Hey everyone,

Im lookin to go somewheres in Europe to teach. I notice in the job ads that they ask for you to include a photo of yourself with a resume and cover letter etc.... What kind of photo are they looking for?? Is a photo from a webcam good enough or are they looking for a pic from a digital camera?? thx for any help

Make it a good photo of you dressed professionally. You do want to make a good impression right? If you're taking the time to put together a good CV and cover letter, you might as well do it right.

It should be an ID-style photo like the one in a passport.

Generally, they want something equivalent in quality to, and showing the same general area as, what you'd have in your passport.

Ok so i need to take a passport type photo, basically a head shot. But i need to email this with a cv and cover letter so i take it that a digital camera but in a passport style is accecptable?

I just got a standard passport photo and scanned it into a computer. It was a ridiculously large file, though. If you're sending large files, I'd suggest emailing the school first to let them know to expect large attachments and then sending the photo separately.

edit: An advantage to having a "real" photo instead of a digital one is that chances are you'll still need passport photos when you get settled into your new country. Might as well bring some with you.
