Just ask anyone that has agreed to a "language exchange" of Chinese and English. The agreement is typically 30 minutes of English practice, and 30 minutes of Chinese practice.
In my experience, the Chinese person wants to be "clever" and have most, or all, of the time spent practicing English.

I agree with some of the others that you will probably lose all free time and privacy.
Many Chinese households can also be very noisy. No sleeping early at night or late in the morning for you !

Work at a kid's school plus homestay in China?
Do you want to work 24/7?
Do you want to work day and night?
Because that's how you end up working day and night,
and PAYING for the privilege to do so.

No.

My language exchange: Walking around speaking English. Whenever I asked how to say (a word) in Chinese: silence. Then she continued in English.
Can't imagine doing that all night and on the weekends.

Everyone is different of course so I can only speak for myself. That sounds like pure Hell to me. Although I guess, depending on the family, it could be slightly more tolerable.

Oh!

G., how long did that "language exchange" last?

I'm guessing "not very long".

Warm regards,
