|
I teach at a public school in Northern China. The year ends in early July and I feel like I'm trapped in Groundhog day. Every day is the same and I was looking forward to finishing in June. I am the only foreigner here and I teach TOEFL to one lone student who refuses to write more than 150 words and summarize his reading. He quotes the reading word-for-word....
However, he's slightly better than the Kuwaiti students I had last year. |

What does your contract say?
I could be wrong, but I suspect you're tutoring one of the teacher's sons...

| I don't teach until July, my classes finish at the end of June, but I have three exams in the following four weeks which I have to write papers for and mark. I won't actually finish up until the 19th, but I won't be working much in the four weeks preceding, then I'm off on holiday on the 20th of July. |

If we go by what is on the contract, it says from Aug. 30 2013 to Aug. 29 2014. The school won't give me a specific date for turn in grades, but my "co-teacher" tells me it's in early July.
Does your school tell you a specific date for grade turn in? Mine doesn't. Everything is on a "need to know" basis and so far there isn't one (it's only May!) The place is gettin on my nerves because I had a freezin winter and now Ss. are getting squirrely with warm weather.
They put Ss. in the halls as hall monitors and Ss. still run around the halls. And the warm weather is starting to bring out the pungent smell of the bathrooms.....they got the drop toilets with no doors on the stalls and recently some of the stalls on the 1st floor collapsed. |

Correct me if I'm wrong here revelo, your contract has you signed on till the end of August and you're being asked to turn in your grades by early July. for the following six weeks, the rest of your contract, you're free but should still be getting paid. Where's the problem?
Look at the bright side, they could have you working till August 29th. |
