Another teacher murdered abroad.

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a British teacher on the Indonesian island of Bali, according to local reports.

Drozdz, believed to be in her late 40s, had travelled around the world teaching at international schools and, according to her LinkedIn profile, last worked in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Yeah we're actually headed for Bali in about a week, staying in the same town, small amount of pant papping happened when I read that.

Any tips about safety specific to Bali especially with a kid would be appreciated.

Just speculating here but it looks like she'd been living alone in that detached little villa and was probably pretty vulnerable. No excuse for what happened of course.
I've never been to Bali so I can't comment on the place.

A lot of these kind of stories seem to have a common theme though, people behaving in a way they wouldn't do back at home or ignoring local advice and thinking they are invincible.
If you're with your friends/family and exercise common sense I'm sure you'll be fine.

You see it's always been the common sense part I've had a problem with.

I'm old so I've been round the block a few times as had the woman in the article.

Been living this travelling life for over 25 years, done it on my own, with my fella, now as a family and intend to continue til I'm stiff backed and stiff kneed.

It's all set and setting.

Listen to your spidey sense and don't be dumb arse.

Especially you ladies. When I think back to some of the things I did when I was younger I have to wince.

Still anybody out there got specific info on Bali please PM me.

Just a robbery gone bad. Crime happens everywhere.

It is not like "foreigners" (as a group) were targeted for something more sinister (like the Bali bombings a few years ago).
