Cletus - you don't think 5 pages of lively conversation is enough?

I just started at English Time and I am really struggling with my job. I am a recent university graduate with no teaching experience and a TEFL certificate. I was given a class on my first day after observing two ET classes. This is NOT enough time to prepare for a class. I have no idea how to plan a lesson or stay organized. My TEFL course only focused on grammar. I passed it with a 95. I burn out after teaching grammar for three hours straight. Students are complaining and I don't know what to do. Can a former ET teacher message me with some advice? I was a good college student and I did well on my TEFL exam. Why can't I teach?
It is Wednesday and I am not sure I will be able to make it to Friday. Someone help me I am shaking...

Edit:My username is a bunch of numbers because I did not plan on posting on this forum.

Also, I would prefer private messages. I still work at ET so I need to keep this on the down low.

If you've read this thread thoroughly, you should have an idea of what you're in for?

Smart not to tell us which branch, this would've singled you out and your days may have been numbered.

This is a generic message for similar people in your plight at ET:

(i) TEFL Certificate doesn't really mean much. You learn by actually teaching and improving, in addition to having good books and of course Teacher Training at your school. You will never get the latter at ET

(ii) Your lack of knowledge/experience means you're probably trying to follow the book as a guide; thus, you are screwed.

The only slim hope you have is that you are good looking enough and personable enough to charm your students. It has worked for many an ET teacher.

My advice: RUN!!!!!

Look for another school. This is a busy time and many are hiring.
But if three hours tire you out what are you going to do when you have to teach on weekends and the classes are four hours?

Dude
