So doogsville you have basically suggested that 50 cent posters do not exist in China.
I guess the Chinese govt doesn't pay people to monitor the internet, and / or hack into foreign enterprise systems in the USA and Europe either. |

No, what he clearly wrote was that most of what gets posted on here is of little concern to the Chinese government, and they won't waste their time getting people to post on this site. He also pointed out that it's somewhat strange that people like yourself, who think China is such a horrible place, continue to work here instead of returning to the motherland you left behind. Gotta wonder what kind of Utopian wonderland you really come from since you're currently living in a country (China) that you keep telling us is the worst place on earth. What kind of person subjects themselves to such torture? |

Larsson, I might have went to far, and if you feel disrespected by me, understand that was not my intention. Lets sort this out right now.
I am sorry if I offended you. |

| Alien they clearly do care, hence the website slows down around 'sensitive' times, or sometimes doesn't load at all. |

Larsson Crew,
We all know that they're here. The best way to deal with them is to ignore them.
In conclusion, let me add: Have a Nice Day |

I've been lucky in my ten years here - never ripped off, by anybody.
When I arrived ten years ago I told the taxi driver at the airport my destination, and he was pissed because it was only a 20 kuai ride. But he didn't drive in circles.
When my first school messed with me I walked - my own choice. I then requested a release letter, with the assistance of my good friend Bob - who was the DOS. Had it within two working days.
Then moved onto a prestigious university. Never a problem. All paperwork necessary by them was done timeously and according to plan.
Now I am leaving, due to my personal desire to have a breather from China, and they have sorted my L visa while I pack up, at their expense. I have never paid a cent for medical checks, visas etc.
All good in the 'not being ripped off' front, but I need a break from China.
Wait. I did get ripped off. The toilet repairman came over to screw the dodgy seat back onto the toilet. It took him 2 minutes - he charged 50 kuai. I could have bartered, but instead I paid the old geezer and will never use him again. |

| I'm in a similar situation with you theoriginalprankster: I'm taking a break after about 7 1/2 years of teaching in China. I've been ripped off in minor ways once in a while, and have balked at other attempts. But those are outnumbered by honest sellers who stop me to remind me to take my change or to tell me I gave them too much money and then return it to me. |

| I left 100 rmb at a store...didn't realize it...I went back the next day to buy something and the guy gave it back to me. I was astonished that he would give it back when I clearly didn't even recall leaving it..I tried giving him 50 of it but he refused to accept it. |

I also had a similar experience after leaving my expensive Armani sunglasses in a restaurant. I didn't even bother to go back thinking they'd be gone for sure. But the manager actually held them for me and two weeks later when I went back there for dinner he gave me pleasant surprise. Not all Chinese are bandits and thieves.
But when it comes to job agents and recruiters, I have not much hope to find more than a handful of honest ones in Beijing. If these agents want our trust they should give us their real names and a copy of their business license. |

I could care less about their business license. If I take a stupid/bad contract, that's on me. I was stupid. I will not then clog boards up with "I am the victim" rants under multiple profiles.(Writing style is a signature in itself) Put your big boy/girl pants on and move on. Lesson learned. These days many people want to blame everyone around them but themselves. If you can't navigate the minefield don't go fishing. |
