No, the international PGCE con is just an Master's without the thesis or dissertation. It does not confer QTS. There's is no shortcut or cheap way to get it.

Is that distance or online? Even partly? If so it will not be accepted in much of the ME later, certainly not in KSA.. Not trying to discourage but trying to save you time and money. |

| No doubt you cannot afford international schools and your poor kids will suffer. they haven't asked for any of this madness. |

If you just wanna earn some cash, you could try TQLS in Kuwait. There was a married couple there. They also hire Brits and Americans.
Dodgy students though! |

Kuwait is the biggest dump in the ME! Next you'll be suggesting they try Al Marefah Exemplary..... |

Agreed. Plus, the employment offers are all from sketchy contracting companies. A recipe for an unhealthy dish of misery---serves 5. |

How can a PGCE be long distance? Sounds very suspect to me.
You spend 2/3rds of your time preparing and teaching classes in a secondary school and you are assessed by your university and teaching mentor. It would be laughable if a UK university trusted a Saudi university to develop teachers to reach the UK educational standards.
Like Bartholemew said, forget the short cuts.
You need to complete a teaching year after your PGCE to achieve QTS status.
I'm sure some contracting company can accommodate you and your wife. I wouldn't count on it. |

Yep Muscat, I totally agree with you but if they need a quick cash injection to finish their studies....well they could do worse as you've pointed out |

| Also, keep in mind that Saudi is a horrible country and bringing your children here could well count as child abuse. |
