EDIT: So I want to use this thread now for people to ask about any schools that have made them offers or any recruiters/agencies that we want to know are legit or not or if anyone has had bad or good experiences with them.

I have been offered 2 jobs already however this position seems a lot better than any of the other 2 offers I have been made.

I was thinking of applying for it as someone on here mentioned why dont I try DDDragon school as it would be my first time working in China (Less hours, good benefits and pay)

So here is the offer... and just looking for some information from others on the actual school itself thanks.

DD Dragon is Western-owned, and the teaching system is user-friendly and highly effective. All materials are provided, so no lesson-creation is necessary.

Every lesson has a Lesson Plan that you simply photocopy and adhere to.

In addition, we provide new teachers with free and comprehensive TEFL training prior to commencing teaching at DD Dragon (there's an online component, as well as in-classroom training in Shanghai).

Requirements:
1. Outgoing personality
2. One-year commitment
Note that prior teaching experience is not required, and nor is a university degree.

At DD Dragon Children's English School we always:

1. limit the number of students per class to 15
2. have at least one BILINGUAL ASSISTANT teacher in the classroom
3. provide complete LESSON PLANS and an effective syllabus
4. provide HANDS-ON TRAINING

Furthermore, our contract includes:

1. A MINIMUM salary of RMB9,000 per month for 25 teaching hours a week (no Office Hours necessary)
2. Overtime teaching at the rate of RMB120 per hour
3. A contract-completion bonus of RMB5,000
4. Free fully-furnished accommodation
5. Airport pick-up
6. A working visa
7. Paid training prior to commencing teaching

Does anyone have any experience with them?

When I first started marketing myself to China, they were the first to reply. Got offered a DOS position immediately in my interview (I only had two years experience). That and other peculiarities led me to asking for some time to think about making a commitment. They understood and told me to take 'as much time as I need.' On the third day they asked had I made up my mind - I told them I was still reviewing my options. On the fifth day they got abusive and told me they were disapointed in me (whoa!)

I asked to see a sample lesson plan - it was a joke. A total of 4-5 sentences if I remember correctly.

I wouldn't take one post from someone who never actually worked for them, and one troll as a reason to turn it down. Ask the school for contact details of current teachers, it's pretty standard, and if they refuse it's a very bad sign. Also find the expat sites of whatever city the school is in and ask around there. Not every teacher in China visits Dave's on a frequent basis. I just did a quick Yahoo search (Google is a fickle beast from China these days) and got some information. Not a lot of it seems positive though Sad

Thanks doog! Yeah I know he is trolling I am already on the case with contact details for other teachers as you say. I will keep you guys updated.

I have seen a few stories about them (Not good) and a couple that seem OK.

Lets see if they give me some other teacher emails and I will take it from there.

are you talking about me? someone spilled beer on my computer before and my keyboard didn't work...apparently , it works now. If you are talking about me....dude, going to DD Dragon was my idea.

DD Dragon was my first job in China. I never had 1 problem with the contract and they honored everything in it...I dealt with a Chinese woman named Candy...not sure if you are talking to this same person.

You can question the validity of what they actually do in the classroom all you want...but as far as everything in the contract is concerned....about twenty hours teaching..no office hours....my airfare was paid for I think...nine thousand a month...free housing..lesson plans made.. cant get much better than that as a first job with no resume. You do learn how to make things fun and interesting for children...obviously doesn't apply to teens and up though.

This was just my experience. I guess it depends who you''re dealing with.

So this is what they have said to me...

Hi,
The school has a foreign experts certificate,so you can come with a tourist visa and they will cover it into a working visa reallly soon. We will write you an invitation letter and give you the chinese id card of your manager to help you with the application of the tourist visa and usuallly the application takes about one week. So please contact me again around the middle of September. If you have any questions ,feel free to ask.
Regards,
Bella

My reply mentioned about working illegally and being deported etc etc lol

So she then replied back with this...

Hi,
No,we're not going to let you work on a tourist visa. What i meant was you come with a tourist visa first and the school will apply for your working visa while you're here. And with the certificate they have ,you will get a working visa soon enough. We applied for working visa for the teachers before they come to China some times, but not all of them kept their promises, and we could do nothing about it. So we prefer the teachers come to China first before we apply for their working visa.I hope you can understand. I can give you some skype ids of the teachers working at Cangnan school if you still have doubts.
Regards,
Bella

Why would she offer skype id's of some of the other teachers do some schools actually get away with this or are able to do this?

All things are possible in teflland. As far as I am aware a foreign experts certificate means just that, they are allowed to employ foreign experts. But how can they possibly justify you as an expert with no qualifications and no experience? Being a native speaker does not make you an expert btw.

It seems to me that you really want to go and therefore you SHOULD go but as I advised before make sure you have enough cash to make a hasty retreat if it all goes wrong.

Best of luck and best wishes.
