Just wondered if the hiring season is over now as the apologists for all Omani problems relating to potential new hires seem to have disappeared? |

And your point is? We know that you aren't looking... sooo... are you just trying to troll up an argument? They are likely off enjoying their summer leave somewhere cooler...
You do really need to let go of the fact that not everyone has or has had the same experience as you and allow them their opinion. Soon you should be back in the US of A... working on that book... right?

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, MG. I'm touched that you miss me!
Indeed, holidays are here and there are better things to be doing. I will leave just one remark in the form of a joke I heard recently.....
What do you call a basement full of teachers?
A whine cellar.
I have some CDN friends who are always on about the unions, the latest strike action, underfunding , terrible conditions etc......seems like there is always something to talk about as a teacher !
Happy Eid everyone, take care and have a good summer.

The initial hiring season has no doubt ended, but I'm sure there will be second, smaller wave of hirings done in August/early September to account for any runners or people who fail to show up. |

Employers in the middle east are like Burger Thing. Always hiring. True, there is a season for hiring. This is the period in which teachers are conditioned to submit their creds and nod yes, believing that if they sit on the fence too long they'll miss out on that great job or even miss out altogether and wallow in poverty. But the truth is, there are runners, teachers who (willingly get) terminated, and quitters leaving middle east teaching jobs year-round. If one is hell-bent on working in a place like Oman, one won't have to wait too long for a job offer from someplace no matter the time of year. |
