| I have an offer from Joy English. Ive done a little research. I know its a chain, and the experience will depend on the branch. I have an offer in Dawan,yungkang district, (Tainan City?). I've got 5 years ESL experience, but all in Japan. Can I make it through a one year contract with these people? Is it worth my time? Please chime in and thanks. |

Hello yellow earth,
I figure that most Joy locations are franchises. As such, each one has its own boss and unique work environment.
I don't know anything about that particular location in Tainan. I'd expect the people of Tainan to be very conservative and respectful, overall.

| I have friends who've stayed with Joy a long time. I started there myself and did a year with them but that was back in 2000. It was a good place to find my footing in Taiwan's EFL world. |
