Hehehe.
Johnslat, finally an outlet for your (far in the future) retirement years!
Influencing the English Language of the Future Via the Upcoming Brazilian Generations:-)
We should all have such impact!!!
Well, actually, not ALL of us should.
I recall some dreadful writing in terms of grammar and usage here by people who purportedly teach the language.
But johnslat should. |

Phonetics, phonics, ............................
soon the difference will be forgotten by the few who ever understood the distinction.
Unless the young Brazilians carry the torch, I guess!
Johnslat, steppin' up to the plate..... |

Dear johnslat,
You had to know I was joe-king about the seniors taking our jobs, right? Of course you did - I am just over-thinking things as usual.
But two questions.....do they say Mama mia in Brazil? And when did you start signing your name as Johjn? |

Dear JoeKing,
Oh, you were JoeKing - or rather, you ARE JoeKing. I never left China - never having gone there in the first place. My present location is something the Witness Protection Program won"t allow me to reveal. However, if you look closely at my avatar, you may get a hint.
Of course, they say Mama Mia in Brazil. They're all big ABBA fans.
Regards,
John (aka John) |

You never know - phonics could get "grand fathered" in. |

Dear JoeKing,
" . . . phonics could get "grand fathered" in."
In my case, it would have to be "great grand fathered" in.
Regards,
Geezer John |
