I had male friends who used to work at AETG but not for PNU, but these guys worked for the Male academy behind Marina mall in Riyadh. They had a pretty bad time there with some managers who changed their story or lied to the teacher's faces and refused to solve any problems.
According to Saudis, AETG/Alfaisal Academy is a prestigious company to learn English, because it is owned by a Prince, they said.
Who is the Monster? you said "her", so does her name start with P or M? I don't know them personally but hey I can pass the info around.
I knew of 2 American girls who moved from AETG compound/job to SBC compound/job , same uni at PNU.
Anyone knows who was/ is doing Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud University in Riyadh?
I want to now any of your experience at Imam uni or with its contractor.
Cheers

Imam Uni has some teachers which they directly hire but the majority are contracted staff from a company called al khaleej training and education.

Decent enough company. Pay all monies and on time. Only bad thing is the accommodation isn't the greatest and they only give SR 1500 as allowance so it's pretty difficult to get your own place.

The only problem with Al Khaleej is that they bring teachers over to Riyadh for a few days then disperse them to various locations in KSA. These locations are usually back of beyond, are mostly strict followers of Wahabism (no women showing their faces, so veils). Even the men who go there are bored out of their minds, because there is usually(read always) nothing to do in the evenings, apart from preparing lessons. Over the w/e everyone who can, escapes these places for Riyadh (2-3 hours + drive- depending where one is)

1500 Riyals per month for accommodation allowance?
where on earth a foreigner can find a decent furnished place with wifi in Riyadh? or can they?
Most apartments are rented on only with yearly rate, but the company might shift a teacher anywhere anytime during the contract term, it wouldn't be a good idea to rent a place on yearly rate on one's own.
I heard from someone that AL Khaleej prefers people who are already inside KSA, and I guess there are plenty.

I was offered a blank contract ( no $$$$ ) and had a chat with a HR guy ( Sudanese) but he refused to give me more info in details on $$$, and I stopped calling/emailing him. !!

I guess accepting a job offer that comes with a place would be ideal for new teachers.
Thanks for the info.
Have a great day!

Al khaleej do offer accommodation but in Riyadh it's not great. They have two apartment blocks where they store their teachers. Both in the Yarmuk district.

But I hear that al khaleej house their teachers on very nice compounds in places such as tabuk

Edex has one of the worst reputations of all recruiters throughout the Kingdom. I have no PERSONAL experience with them, except to refuse any and every offer they have ever made. Haven't received one in a while. Maybe they finally got the message.

I DO (or have) worked with several former Edex recruited teachers and have heard horror stories. The "funniest" was the western teacher who was housed in a 1 bedroom apartment with a person from a different ME country. The roommate would routinely build a fire in a bucket in the living room on which to cook. It took "an act of congress" to get him moved.

Anybody know where these teachers will be relocated to? Or will Edex have to let them go

I spoke to an Edex teacher (female) who works at KSU and she said that the university is retaining most of them but that they are not accepting any new teachers through Edex.

So if Edex has lost the contract, how can the university retain the teachers.

Because KSU desperately need teachers after firing a whole of lot them last semester, so once they all arrive (the new batch), I'm sure the EDEX ones will slowly be removed. Dog eat Dog business! Crying or Very sad

Many Edex staff have simply switched to Al Hussan.

Have they done this after arriving back in Riyadh?? Or did they go back to their home countries then switch employer.

I heard that Al Hissan doesn't have too many visas, so they are renting teachers who under contract by Edex. Until they get more visas, I would assume Al Hissan will continue to rent teachers.

^ I think he means something along the lines of 'subcontracting'.

This was done over the Ramadan holiday after returning home.
