Hardly a greatg challenge but I got out of Korea and into Japan without serious hitch.
I would only change one thing...tell immigration you are only staying a few weeks. I made the mistake of saying 3-6 months. Cost me 5 minutes of gruff discussion from the goon at Haneda...
He was a nice enough guy, just doin his job. And all immigration peopel are goons - British ones are for sure.
Ah well - more posts later as I get to grips with Tokyo life.
Thanks to all whose advice was helpful.

Did you find a job before you got there? PM me with the info if you'd like.
I'm looking to change from Korea to Japan or Taiwan.
Did you claim your Korean pension before you left?

Sightseeing visa.
Not allowed to work until I have sponsorship.
Don't mind as I need a holiday.
So far - superficially much better than Korea. Much more uptight but that can be a good thing IMO.
Not sure how my last employers have taken the shock...no reply to my I QUIT email. Maybe the shock killed them!?
Cheers
So far so much better on the othere side. |

Ah ok, that makes sense. If I was getting in on a Work Visa I'd definitely want to say I'm staying for the full year. |

Skarp,
How do you find the differences in prices? The killer is when you want to travel anywhere. I`ll bet you don`t miss people yelling "Meeguk sirum" at you. |
