I'm in China now but I think I need a break from this place.
I would like to teach in a cold climate. I can't stand the hot weather.
Thing is though the teaching hours at the university level here are really nice.
Is there another place to go where it's cold and I would have comparable number of teaching hours? |

Depending on what you call 'hot' you could stay in China. I'm guessing you're in the south. Hohhot (Inner Mongolia) hohhot's hottest July temperature is 28C according to wikipeida (16C average low for July).
Equally, head to Kunming ("Spring City") - the temp has gone above 30C on a 'handful of occasions', again wikipedia. |

Try ASTANA, Kazakhstan - the second coldest capital in the world.
Temperatures of up to -40C for 4 months. |

Which really wasn't as bad as it sounds. You just have to know how to dress for it. |

There is this tiny town high in the mountains of southern Mexico called Chalcatongo, Oaxaca. There's a small university there and they are looking for teachers with your profile. Its never so cold that it snows, but you can see your breath most mornings year round. The elevation keeps it cool. |

Hungary, if you get in. CETP (placement program / thinly-veiled recruitment agency which charges teachers) seems to have it in tight grasp on jobs in the country and offers 20 hours for $500 USD monthly--a bit low by Chinese pay scale, but it's said to be enough while you're there. The teaching jobs are primarily in grade and high schools, maybe one or two universities. |

$500 a month is like living on benefits. No way near enough. |

Canada.
Your pay will depend on your qualifications. Menial to CAD$ 150,000 per year with experience in Canada. Pension, benefits are possible, I'd stay away from the province of British Columbia for the foreseeable future. If you can't get a teaching certificate then try private schools. |

Should note that your chances of getting work in Canada as an EFL/ESL teacher unless you are Canadian are near nil. |

Don't worry, Spiral. After annexation, the Party will nationalise the Canadian EFL industry and then internationalise it : ) |
