Well, if true, at least I was right about it being a conspiracy.... |

You'll probably find that most conspiracies originate in the Kremlin. But you'd need remarkable skills and a twisted mind to be able to trace them back to the secret corridors of power here. |

People and governments keep secrets for three reasons: crimes; embarrassing personal facts; and surprise parties. I'll go with a conspiracy involving members of the state and/or others in the JFK assassination, unless someone is planning a hell of a birthday bash. After such a consequential assassination and even fifty years later, many of the records are still sealed. http://www.bostonglobe.com/2013/11/25/government-still-withholding-thousands-documents-jfk-assassination/PvBM2PCgW1H11vadQ4Wp4H/story.html
I used to believe that governments were too incompetent to keep secrets. Now I realize that they don't have to be competent. Most people are too afraid of looking foolish to question the authorities. "Nice duds, your highness!"
Edited to add, I liked that joke. |

It's fairly easy for governments to keep secrets. Unless they are incompetent enough to store sensitive info in such an insecure way that millions of pages can be copied to a flash drive and uploaded to the world.
Won't see that happening in the Kremlin... |
