I came across the website of this rather frightening organisation:
http://www.newamericancentury.org/
They seem like a nice bunch of moderate fellows... |

That's very nice, Ludwig. I come across silly web sites every day. So why do you feel the need to point us to this one? Out doing a little trolling today?
Here's a nice web site for you:
http://www.ratemypoo.com/ratemy/poo
It should keep you busy for a while.
Enjoy!

Take a look at some of the PNAC founding members. They are the people who put the Neo into Neo-Conservative. See if there is a pattern. These names ought to ring a bell:
Dick Cheney - Vice President of the United States. CEO of Halliburton (no-bid Iraq construction contract winner) just before that.
Jeb Bush - Governor of State of Florida, George W. Bush's brother
Donald Rumsfeld - Number one man, Pentagon
Paul Wolfowitz - Number two man, Pentagon
Dan Quayle - Former VP, USA
Steven Forbes - Media Magnate
William Bennett - Author, "The Book of Virtues", notable for his $1.4 million gambling debt.
Elliot Abrams - Convicted of lying to Congress about the Iran-Contra affair, then pardoned by Bush I, installed by Bush II in the National Security Council staff as a senior director for democracy
I. Lewis Libby - Cheney's Chief of Staff, Lawyer for Int'l money launderer, Marc Rich.

All of these people have George Bush's ear and are/were well placed in the government or media. And none of them have reputations as moderates. I agree, amazingly, with Ludwig. These people are scary as they espouse militaristic, expansionist policies.

Here's what they said pre- 9/11/2001:
Quote: |
the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event like a new Pearl Harbor.

Ludwig,
I couldn't help but notice from your ever-changing wardrobe of avatars, your latest addition. The size '4' label, assuming it is a photo of your own, puts you at a rather petite and slender size this summer - you're going to look great on the beaches of South Africa! |

But I am interested, Ludwig. I really want to know. Why, of all the millions of web pages out there, did you feel compelled to direct our attention to that one?

BD, do you alone determine what sites that people may offer up for us to see? Is there something about this site that you don't like? As Ludwig said, ignore it if it doesn't suit your taste.
Anyway, perhaps, Ludwig chose this site because this group, The Project for a New American Century (PNAC), was mentioned in another thread. As many PNAC members are in high-level positions in the United States government or in a position to influence decisions by the United States government (see above), I would hardly agree with you that ole Ludwig is merely trolling.
These are the guys who led us to war in Iraq. They clearly stated prior to 9/11/2001, that they so intended it. As the election in the United States draws nearer, one could expect that this group will come under even heavier scrutiny.

Nor could you help but comment. Modern technology is just amazing, is it not? All these functions such as delete, copy, paste; quite remarkable, really.

That would be an odd assumption to make (and would be false).

You have obviously never been to SA, then. Up until a few years ago males were not allowed to reveal nipples in public, thus T-shirts had to be kept on whilst on the beach (the beach for whites, that is). Could you perhaps tell me where I could go to the beach (other than with a whole regiment of an army surrounding me for protection)? It may surprise you to learn that at my family's home here in Sandton, one can not even approach the outer gates without a member of the ground staff at your side, and there you are talking about going to the beach (as if it were Bournemouth)! BMW do not produce models of their cars for the SA market with flamethrowers along the sides for no reason!
By the way, it is winter here (and there are not all too many beaches in Joburg anyway). |

No, I don't, and I would like to lay that concern to rest once and for all: You have my permission to look at anything you like.

Apparently, there is something about this site that several people don't like. Ludwig himself referred to it as 'frightening". I look at it and see just another lame-o web site.
kimo wrote: |

That's not what he said. Why is it *so* difficult for people to quote accurately? He didn't say anything at all about my taste; he did mention my interest, and I responded by saying that I was interested.

Perhaps.
So whaddaya say, Ludwig? Why did you choose to draw our attention to this web site?

Well due to modernisation, you can not only show your nipples in SA now Luddybuddy, you can now show the whole world that YOU ARE A NIPPLE via your comments here.
Progress, don't you just love it |

I'm still trying to figure out why Ludwig wants to show his nips in public. I've never had that kind of urge.

I still want to thank ole Ludwig for starting this thread on PNAC. Again, this is not some group composed of unknowns meeting in Geneva. These are well-placed Americans with an agenda.
