Media reports that police are investigating Myanmarese on the island. However, I wonder if this wasn't Thai mafia.
So what is the safety otherwise like on Ko Tao these days, including Ko Pha Ngan and even Samui? |

One report in the UK media claims that it was not Myanmarese but a fellow British traveler who may have killed the young couple.
Police source claims that he British suspect has already fled the island and likely headed for Bangkok. |

That's probably where police will focus their search. At first I thought why would the suspect go to Bangkok since that's the most obvious place for the police to look for this person. But then I realized that that would probably be the best place for him to blend in since that's where most of the tourists and foreigners are. He'd stick out like a sore thumb in some small town riding a bus trying to make it to the border.
If it is a fellow British ex-pat or traveler who killed them, I think the police already know who it is from info obtained at the guest houses. They'll know who checked out or disappeared on that day.
It's just a matter of time before he's caught. He won't be able to get on a plane now.
I wonder if suspects who reach the Myanmar border and slip in undetected can avoid capture. |
