used to be true...but now military jobs do not pay as they once did.

this is a recent change. B3H and Booz now have low salaries...46K-48K

Next will be Raytheon/SALTS.

So the 2 year plan is now a 5 year plan.

If you have an MA, better to get with a uni....at least students will be a little better there and you might still have a chance to get a supervisor or manager that doesn't really care about your performance.

Military wants to blame you, the teacher, for student failure. Otherwise, they would have to face the fact that they are, in fact, the reason for failure.

The best managers in KSA are the ones that just let you do your job....military now thinks they are actually capable of managing their khawaja.... and they screw things up on a daily basis.

It used to be.....
1 year in Saudi = 2 years worth of wages = 2 years worth of stress and aging.
Now it is.....
1 year in Saudi = 1 year of wages = 2 years worth of stress and aging.

The golden days are gone....for those still enjoying the good salaries....hang on with both hands and thank your lucky stars.

Thank you for the response, Allizwell. I've worked in Saudi before and finished a contract, so I know the drill. I expect to be treated like dirt, muzzled, humiliated, mismanaged, mistreated, neglected, lied to, and exploited, if my past treatment in the Kingdom is any indication of future expectations. Of course, I would only tolerate such treatment if the reward were high enough. What you wrote is precisely my plan: make a nice nest egg and get the hell out of there! By the way, what contractors are hiring for the Aramco positions? Could you refer me to a job ad or provide me with the e-mail address of a recruiter? Please PM me if necessary.

Ok, so you know what to expect. As far as openings, follow NS' s advice and you will come across the contractors that deal with teaching jobs at Aramco. The major ones are : SRACO, HAKA, Al Hoty, and JAL. The first three all have their issues, but by all accounts JAL is the worst. I've heard they've even stopped granting multiple-exit visas, so definitely stay away from them! Best of luck.

Not sure what they will do next....everyone else in the military esl biz has slashed salaries.

RayRay/Salt was not hiring for a while...not sure if they will start up again.
But in truth...it is a shi**t job....and the saudis treat you like a migrant worker.....not that they were ever known to be all that respectful of other cultures anyway.

RayRay/SALT treats teachers like they are a dime a dozen.
not worth it....they do not have your back and will throw you under the bus if they need to.... the American managers are more concerned about saving their own skin... and lining their own pockets. The money is no longer there....and the job of teaching those cadets..is sh**t...and getting worse.
Like someone else said...its all about income...not the outcome. The income is not what it used to be..and the outcome will never improve since the chimps are in charge...and the American managers could care less.
Its a dirty business and the only ones getting rich anymore are the managers of the programs...and the Saudi officers getting their kickbacks (backsheesh)...for going along.

best bet....in my opinion is booz allen....60K a year and they just restructured it this year.....so salary and benies might not change again for at least a few more years.

RayRay....i suspect is about to change the rules next year when contract is up.....probably will slash.....salaries...or get out of the teaching business altoghether...and just focus on weapons of mass destruction.

That's a hell of a statement. I get most, but I don't understand why you have to be humiliated, treated like dirt and exploited. The other things I guess are to be expected by poor management, but what is the need for the points I highlighted? Why would they, or how would they do those things?
