Elliott, do you come here to brag about your wage or to contribute info to the forum? It'd be useful to know what class of school you work at (university, etc) even if you're unwilling to specify the institution. |

I didn't come to brag. I was merely saying that low wages is not always the case in Istanbul/Turkey like in other countries, some wages rival those in Asia... I work in the private sector, and not a univeristy |

Yep good point about the U.K, the weather and the bloody awful food after living well here for so long, not really looking forward to my eventual and inevitable return. |

I still don't think Turkey rivals Asia in terms of wages, though it wins on every other aspect! The wages in China are still far better for private international school teachers or certain j/v unis. The minimum here more is like 7000 TL + free apartment and flights, health insurance etc. Plus it's cheaper and the students are easier to handle. However, most people would choose Turkey over China any day! |
