Well, at the place where I work it's only 30 days annual leave plus a few public holidays here and there. |

| My biggest issue with the MOM colleges is the lack of any break between semesters two and three....working from the start of January til mid July without a few days is a long haul.....especially living in the interior! |

What's the point of having trimesters if there's no break in between 2 and 3? Might as well just switch to a semester system |

With neither Ramadhan nor the Eids landing in the 2nd semester, it has made it very long. It doesn't back into the academic calendar with effect again until 2020.
Some places have added a "Spring break," but not all.

In the UK the current law, for holiday allowance, as stated on the Government web site is
Workers who work a 5-day week must receive 28 days’ paid annual leave per year, and Bank or public holidays do not have to be given as paid leave. An employer can choose to include bank holidays as part of a worker’s statutory annual leave.
When I worked for the Civil Service in the glory days of the well paid 1980s I was senior enough to receive 32 days paid holiday plus paid bank & public holidays - and even then, that was a rarity. Things in the world of UK employment have not got any better!
Many EFL teachers in the UK are put on 'zero hour'contracts which do a good job in avoiding having to give teachers decent paid leave (& a few other benefits) - as teachers are classed as casual rather than permanent employees |
