I would wait until after Christmas. You will not find any of them around the festive month of December. Best to wait until January and they should be less busy. I have no idea about your other questions...  |

Suitcase and backpack for moving, backpack for travelling.
Never again will I haul a big ass suitcase all around Thailand or wherever, hitting every little hole in the poorly paved streets. I really don't care if they think I'm some drug addicted loser from Belgium.
In your situation I might stick with a backpack. The main reason for a large suitcase, for me, is to carry food items that are cheap back home but expensive or unavailable here. If you don't have any idea where you're going than that kind of planning is hard to do. Without those items I can easily fit everything I need in a large backpack. Get one that's as light as possible and has something that will protect your shit from massive downpours (a cover or water-proofing). |
