Sort of late in life for a career change, some might think, but perhaps further proof that:
1. it's never too late
2. there CAN be life after EFL

Dear Hod,
Why, damn_my_eyes, I appreciate your charming response. But I do love it when you talk dirty  .
Well, after I finished all the hurdles but before I went into the Academy, my wife told me that she'd rather I didn't go. When I asked why she'd waited so long to let me know that, she confessed that she'd never thought I'd get that far.
So, I didn't go. Instead, I went back to teaching, having a number of different jobs over the past ten years: ESL teacher, 5 & 6th grade English teacher at a parochial school, GED teacher in the New Mexico State Penitentiary, and the hardest job of all, a Head Start teacher.
Now, I'm the ESL Coordinator in the Adult Education Department at Santa Fe Community College. But it's only an Interim position; I've been doing it since August, and it looks like it"ll continue until May. But I'm hoping a permanent coordinator gets hired soon.
Despite my being, as damn_my_eyes so accurately commented, "a two faced untrustful (sic) scheming piece of #@$t" I really don't like administration and will be glad to get back to the classroom.
