This is my first post although I have been lurking around for a while but let me get to the point because I do have some legitimate questions that need answering:

My degree from CSUCI is not recognized by the Saudi Cultural Commission.

I know this because I did all the paperwork and sent my documents all off to the travel agency that my recruitment company uses and they submitted the documents to the Saudi Cultural Commission. This will be my first job outside the US as an ESL teacher.

My school, CSUCI, was created and began accepting students only 12 years ago in 2002. It is a legitimate school and I took all of the classes in person.

I submitted with my notarized diploma copy, a copy of my official transcripts, an official letter stating that all of the classes where taken in person, and I even verified my degree and sent a copy from degree verify.com.

My questions are 3 fold, and don't bother answering unless you have a legitimate answer based on some real life experience or knowledge of any of these questions or information describing where I can get more information on the questions.

1. What criteria is used to determine whether or not a school is recognized by the Saudi Cultural Commission?

2. What steps can one take to have their degree/school recognized by the Saudi Cultural commission (ie letters form the accrediting agency which accredited the school filled with degree or something like that)?

3. Are there any other ways around this?

This is just a guess, but maybe someone looked up the wrong "Channel Islands" and thought your university was in a French speaking area.

They may have thought:

see:

Quote:
The Jersey Language is one of the many 'patois romans' of France. Each of the four largest of the Channel Islands has its own particular language or dialect, this 'Normand insulaire' being different from that of the Cotentin in Normandy. All these and many others are descended from, and are some of the innumerable shoots of, the great Latin tree. Thus the Channel Island dialects are survivals of the ancient Norman tongue, venerable relics of a period when the old Norman was itself a recognised literary language.

Jèrriais, or Jersey Norman French, has been our vehicle of expression for hundreds of years and we have led an equally long and separate existence from the mainland of Normandy.

When in fact, the university you went to is actually right by ANOTHER set of Channel Islands.
