For most schools it starts in mid May and ends at the end of February.
Schools are either shut or run a summer school program during March-April.
Those schools who hold an "international" school's license run from Sept-June. There are also a few running on a trimester system. with varying start/end dates.

Cheers. And as far as I recall most schools don't take time off for Christmas, do they? |

For most Thai schools, Dec 25 is a school day.
Dec 31, 1 are national holidays and you get 3-7 days off at Songkran in April (should you happen to be working at someplace that is running in April (like a language academy).
