|
|
Hi Everyone,
Summer vacation will come up (from July to September). So, I'll have about 7 weeks of time off.
Is there any way I can either volunteer or work for a short six week contract in a new country.
I'm hoping this'll be a new country that's interesting to visit, although I wouldn't want to live there for long periods because of low pay. (I think of Nepal, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc.).
Feel free to tell me if this plan would not work and why, just so I know.
Thanks for the consideration |

If you are looking at SE Asia then no and yes.
No. There is NO option for legal work or work as a volunteer for such a short period. No visa and it is illegal to work or volunteer on a tourist visa or no-visa entry waiver.
Yes. There are lots of short term opportunities; fly in and get busy but you will be an illegal (with all the risks that may entail including potential detention, fines and a ban on further entry).

Try googling "volunteer English teaching" plus the name of whatever country(ies) you're interested in.
If you're interested in the Dominican Republic, send me a PM. Though, their summer break is June through August so, for some positions, you'd need to arrive by the last week of June. |
