The foreign is filled 90% with either wu maos or this CTFU malarky, both of which are so obvious.
The CTFU people just spam endless links to blogs or whatever they have created, and I don't know why, and the wu maos jump down anyone's throat who dares to speak out against China. |

By my calculations, that's 12 teachers per school. I have worked for only 2 schools with more than half a dozen foreign teachers. Most have one or two. |

Ha! I'm just very clear in my PMs to the Mods. I provide a sample or two of the offender's quoted posts as evidence and a description of the issue it's creating. The Mods can then decide if it's a valid complaint, but so far, my alerts have helped eliminate three pesky, spammy trolls from this forum. |

There are more than just rumors floating around at the SAFEA tefl center lately where I just finished my exam. They are not only planning on requiring an IQ test, but also an English proficiency test (supposedly this one http://evaluation.safea.gov.cn/login.php) and instead of just testing us for HIV they are going to expand the body check to include all STDs.
I am sponsoring a new arrival teacher at my school and when he arrived last week and registered at the cop shop, they gave him a 12 pack box of condoms! Maybe this has something to do with giving us an IQ test? LoL! |

and it makes you wonder what kind of person would post such nonsense. People (especially newbies to China) come to eslcafe expecting to find something at least remotely helpful, or useful (which the above quote is not). Reading some of the stuff on this forum makes me think that an IQ test to become a China foreign teacher isn't such a bad idea. |

Who could be the same person, as other members have suspected, with a small army of puppets to "astroturf" the issues of contracts, wages, and a blacklist while entertaining themselves with caricatures of expat attitudes. |

Probably. They're like recurring bouts of herpes. This forum isn't my normal stomping ground, so you'd recognize returning trolls' and spammers' modi operandi better than I. However, it really doesn't matter if they're one in the same since it's their tacky behavior that gets them noticed and subsequently, lands them on the end of the Mods' boot. Anyway, others can certainly alert the Mods if they see something amiss on this or any other forum. |

IQ tests don't reveal much about personality. I vote that the MMPI or The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory be administered.
It's worth reading about. Some employers in the U.S. use it (I don't know why), and the criminal justice system uses it too.

Listen - I spent 3 yrs in China and came across all the filth and dross which no expat should be expected to.
I've met permanent alcoholics.
I've met paedo's.
I've met skirt chasers.
I've met psychos. Clinically certifiable psychos.
I've met those who proudly boast of having fake degrees.
You know what? Not a goddamned one of them was a QUALIFIED, bona fide English teacher - and I am a card carrying member of MENSA in UK/USA/Canada - IQ 186.
LISTEN - China DOES NOT deserve this. I'm a Brit and Canadian - proudly so - and I AM A TEACHER. I'm heading back there because I love China, and the education system there. The students are amazing - ok, don't tell them when you are sick because they will all move into your apartment to make sure you don't die, because they love you and they will cry too much.
SHAME on the backpackers and the 'fake' teachers.
THIS is why the authories are cracking down - about bloody time.
It's my dearest wish that they require an expanded CRC to root out the closet paedo's.
China doesn't need you - stay away - go 'backpack' somewhere else - not at the expense of China.
If you are NOT a teacher - go away - you're NOT welcome in my neck of the woods, and I will expose all the fakers for everything they are. |
