Thanks for the replies, everyone! Sorry if there was any confusion regarding the I.T. acronym. Yes, it commonly (especially before the advent of instructional technology) refers to "information technology." It still does in many places.

Yes, I know that many schools do not have the equipment necessary to fully utilize technology and its benefits in education. That is unfortunate but reality. I definitely don't think technology should be one's only tool for teaching. If anything, it's supplementary. One should use technology only when it can assist in student engagement, assessment, etc. However, with the rapid advancement of technology and the fact that it is beginning to reach countries with awful socioeconomic conditions, I think educators should consider incorporating these new methods and trends.

I think my best bet would be an international school or a school that is reputable for having advanced or modern facilities; additionally, schools that are notable for implementing innovative, 21st-century teaching strategies might appreciate this kind of degree and skill set.

I am still on the lookout but it looks like I will be continuing as an English teacher for a while. Thanks again for the information and resources!

If anyone would like to further discuss the awesome potential of instructional technology (more specifically, Web 2.0 tools, various synchronous and asynchronous strategies, instructional design) then feel free to P.M. me Smile
