Teach in Indonesia for fun. A truly fascinating country.
Teach in Singapore for the money and the normality. After a while, one needs to try and earn a comparable salary to what one would expect in the west.
I would like to try Myanmar in the future for a giggle. |

Normality? More like banality. In Singapore I'd sometimes forget for a moment that I was in a foreign country. It might as well have been suburban southern California.
In Indonesia I'd watch variety shows sometimes, shows like Indonesian Idol. I hated the music, I didn't understand the words, and it bored the hell out of me, but in the end I thought, well, what of it? These programs aren't for me; they're for them - all 300 million of them. The music was often awful, the singers were sometimes bad, but it was their music and singing. Their very own culture!
In Singapore all they can think to do is pipe in American rock and jazz oldies and the latest pop schlock. Singapore: a nation with neither a language or a culture. Why, even their time zone they borrow from Beijing when they should be two hours behind that city. |

Yes, water rat, we get it, you don't like Singapore as is evidenced by your three or four near-identical posts over the last few days. I don't know what your agenda is other than a need for your opinion to be heard more than others.
I'm sure life in China must be amazing for you - I can only begin to imagine the joy that comes from living amongst shoving, shouting, smoking, spitting, shitting neanderthals. |

They're not identical. It's called a 'theme'.
You're right. I just wish to be heard, and to educate. Why are you here? Just to troll? Or is it to merely make racist remarks and disparage a quarter of the world's population?
And here's something: I am absolutely correct about how pathetic Singapore is (the nation, not mongering any hate at any particular group there) - while you're indulging in nothing but ignorant generalities.
"Ignorant" - you don't seem to know what neanderthal means.
"Generalities" - not anything like all 1.6 billion of them behave as you 'only imagine'. Why knock a place you can only imagine? That's odd.
If you don't like the Chinese, don't go to their country. I didn't like Singapore, I left, and I hope I never have to spend even another hour of my life there.

Look up "arrogant" while you've got your dictionary out.
Oh, and "boring old tosser" whilst you're at it. |

Asian countries tend to work on a reverse life-income shitscale. Think supply and demand with a poop scale.
Let me explain.
The shittier the place, IE Vietnam and China quite often the better the pay (compared to living costs). Demand is higher is higher than supply.
The good places with less pollution, ignorant locals and acceptable services such as Japan, Korea and Thailand offer the less saving potential (in local currency) and many of the desirable locations are paying less now than 10-20 years ago, though the supply is higher than demand.
Laos is hopeless, Cambodia has no ESL market to speak of and Burma thinks that it is the next Paris of SE Asia and is charging similar rents. Mongolia is the retard of the group and the Philippines have no need to English as it is a second language already and everyone is leaving there anyway.
The shitscale in effect |
