Yeah no doubt that will have a serious effect. Many people aret gonna even wanna watch the events live never mind take part in them.

Wasnt it England midfielder Paul Scholes who said Japan in the summer was a stupid place to hold the World Cup after 2002?

The summer is a bad time to hold outdoor sporting events in Japan. I also normally leave at this time (or a good part of the summer) to try and avoid the excessive humidity.

On the other point, actually many here will watch the Olympics. I am not so sure though if the tickets will sell out or not, especially for events the Japanese athletes are not likely to win or are not participating in.

Indeed. Gangsters connected with construction. Lots of construction will be needed.

They have passed laws making it harder for Yak related construction business to win govt contracts. I think it has actually had some affect.

Now will that dent the Olympic construction contracts for the Yak? I doubt it.
