Hello....This is my first time posting. My resume is posted on a USA K-12 teacher's site and I received a blast email from a company or school named Taleem. It did not specify what it was. The position is varied and in Saudi Arabia. Through internet research there is nothing that originates in the west. All the information is from Saudi, though in English. But, not sure if Taleem is both a school and recruitment or a company of schools.
Question: Does anyone have any information on this? The recruiter's or email came from a Mohammed Yassin.
Thanks for any assistance. |

Never heard of them. But then, this forum mostly focuses on adult TEFL situations.
If you hold a teaching license from the US, give Teach Away a look; they recruit teachers for this region. |

Thanks. I will check that out. I did another search and noticed it is spelled, "Taaleem". The email I received was with one "a". It might be because they were communicating with a spelling that English speakers would understand.
Okay, thanks. (apologies---I started typing a response before I realized I didn't have your name) |

There is little consistency in transliterating Arabic to English. This is why once can see 6 or 8 different ways to spell the name Mohammed. It often depends on how well the speller speaks Arabic... and/or English... or different dialects of Arabic.

I don't have a license but I do have some experience with those types of schools in Saudi Arabia. I think you're going to find that the Elementary and High Schools from Saudi Arabia that contact you aren't going to be worth considering. There are many many schools that call themselves international schools that are not accredited. In fact is their any real International Schools in Saudi Arabia at all? I doubt it. They're all private schools for profit, really crappy. Also any pay offered by these schools will be half of what you would get by simply working for an outfit like EDEX or others. Don't consider any school like that in Saudi Arabia, you will be totally ripping yourself off. |
