Hash....

I didn't understand the equation between being a Muslim and speaking English! What has religion to do with language?

And what happens to the children born in the West of Muslim parentage who speak fluent English (and other languages)? Are they deemed 'native speakers'?

By the way there is a Dutch company that has opened up various Language Schools in KSA, but for women only at present, not sure if they are catering for men yet.

That seems to be a confusion shared/caused only by Hash...

No on else has suggested any equation thereof.

Amsterdam42, From what I understand... Employers ask the Saudi government for visas to bring teachers in and are given what they call 'block visas' which have specific nationalities the teacher must have in order to receive the visa... I have never heard of any from Holland...

Two other options you might look at, although long shots... 1) Look at the possibly applying for a job under the nationality your parents originated from... Lots of Egyptian and Jordanians etc. teaching English here... 2) Look for a sponsor who you pay a fee to for an iqamah and seek your own employment after that via a transfer... This will cost you a significant amount of money...

Amerrycan Muslim...

What! Pardon! If you are perhaps a baby then you can apply under your parents nationality, otherwise in the REAL world, once you have your passport and a birth certificate, it tells you where you were born and if the said person emigrates, then after 3-5 years later one can get the nationality of the chosen country of abode.

What strange comments are being posted nowadays!

VS...

I was referring to Hash's odd 'equation'...no-one else's. No one else seems to have such a convoluted way of thinking, I hope. Shocked

What are you talking about? You're not an English teacher, are you?

AM...

Why? Are you an English teacher or an Embassy official? Is that a rhetorical question or is there a reason for it?

End of conversation!

Read your own comments about 'using parents nationality, etc'.

I'm done here!

If only you had finished before you started... I see why you wander aimlessly friend...

If he wants to get to Saudi and doesn't mind a potential pay cut why shouldn't he look to come on a Moroccan or Tunisian (for example) passport that he would probably be eligible for through his ancestry?

Although, as you alluded to earlier... The comments on here nowadays tend to be quite strange... Indeed!

How many people have 'dual nationality', and why would anyone use a 'lesser passport' to get a lower salary, crappy accommodation, etc to get into the 'famed land of KSA'?

Boy, the teacher would have to be pretty desperate.! As for me 'wandering aimlessly' how else would I meet people like you?

[Hash ambles aimlessly down the pathway, whistling and kicking the proverbial stone down the street, smiling wickedly to himself.]

Because they desire to be here... Funny... To me, desperation seems to be living/working somewhere you don't like nor want to be, but have deluded yourself for some ulterior gain... But to each his own, right?

BTW, I'm glad you finally got your head around the content of my first post... Congrats...

No-one else has commented!
There are no comments from the diehards, because it's an absurd topic, blown out of proportion by yourself and the originator. I merely commented when religion and nationality were mentioned.

I don't disagree with your premise in response to whatshisface... I merely gave someone who appears to want to come to Saudi not just for the money and excellent winter weather a couple other options... If you disagree with them... good... I wouldn't expect you to understand... Especially since you gave up 2.5 hours ago...

P.S. You 'blew it out of proportion' when you responded without understanding what was being stated...

Not really....I have a life other than sitting at a computer constantly updating your banter ( I'm actually working), whilst as you are based in KSA, what else would you be doing to shore up boredom!
