I was just informed by a potential employer that they could not continue with my application process because the college (university for non-Americans) I attended is not on the Ministry of Higher Education list.

It is a small, private college in Florida, and is fully regionally accredited. The employer suggested that perhaps the college had never applied for inclusion on the list.

So I have two questions:

1) Does anyone know what the process is to get a university included on the list?
2) If I were to take the next two years to instead get a Master's degree, would my visa then be dependent on the Master's rather than the BA such that this would no longer matter?

Thanks for any advice.

It's the SACM in the US and not employers that authenticates degrees. But if you're comfortable disclosing the name of your university/college, that might help in answering your question.

As for getting an MA, if it's TEFL related (and doesn't include any online coursework), it would be the qualifying degree and not your BA.

I've sent a PM on this.

So I would not even need to submit the BA for authentication by the SACM?
