Finally got a reasonable job offer in Malaysia in Klang, Selangor.
Not 100% ideal, but a start.
Anyone got the lowdown on Klang, besides what wikipedia offers up? |

Nothing much to do in Klang beyond getting fat on excellent Indian food, but you can take a ferry from neighbouring Port Klang - an absolute shithole - to Sumatra for just over RM100.
Some info here: http://wikitravel.org/en/Port_Klang |

According to wikipedia it's 32km from KL.
Can't be that much of a backwater...?
Good Indian food - great?
How about good weather, other foreigners and womenfolk? |

Klang's pretty big and the Indian food all over mainland Malaysia is some of the best you'll find anywhere. As for bars, there'll be the usual local places but KL has everything you need in terms of nightlife and socialising.
Weather: ridiculously hot, hot and wet, hot and very wet. |

How does 5500/month sound?
Must work weekends, teaching kiddies.
And they want me to do some promo work too..
Hmm |

Not great, but pretty much the norm for a general teaching position at your standard language centre.
Are they offering you any benefits on top of this? Check also that the figure doesn't include your EPF payment (it should be an additional 12% that's paid on top of your salary). |

Benefits = 2000 Ringit airfare allowance.
I'll check about the EPF payment.
Thanks for the reply. |
