What do you think of this offer:
$2,800 USD monthly salary
$133 USD commuting allowance
$400 USD housing allowance

If it is low what should be the correct numbers to accept?

It seems low, especially with the housing allowance. But if you are in provided housing then it won't matter, right?

Better to ask yourself the question....How much are you worth? Or What do you think your worth? or What would make you want to come here?

Me? With the package you've been offered I wouldn't bother whereas for another person if they want it so badly they will take what is offered.

39,000 USD a year is on the low end...but it is better than nothing if you are unemployed.

Other factors like vacation time....which city you will be living in.....and work load are equally important.

For that salary, you had better have 2 - 3 months paid vacation, an assignment in Jeddah, and a work load of no more than 15 teaching hours a week.

The offer is low, even for a BA & experience.

the days of the petrodollar and good pay (if it existed) are numbered.

Why don't people decide for themselves if a salary offer is OK? If it is less than you are happy to be paid, it's too low, and if it's more than you think you need then it's high. The unhappiest people I've seen here are those who seem to evaluate their success on how their salary compares to others. The highest paid teacher at my institute was a complete #*@% and I didn't feel remotely underpaid because he was getting twice what I was.
Also, asking posters what the salary "might" be is irrelevant, because the people who pay you are NOT the ones posting here.

You're not providing enough information for readers to make a realistic evaluation or offer proper guidance.

--salary - how many "contact" hours/week? (how many hours are you physically present in a classroom). How many and what kind of students?

--commuting allowance - "commuting"? That can mean anything. What's the distance? Are you supposed to provide your own transportation? One reason I made KSA my career is precisely to avoid "commuting". If I didn't mind commuting, I'd be in Burbank. An extremely slippery term. Has to be clarified.

--housing - another slippery term. Do you have to find your own? Sharing? (Sharing what?) (What about furnisihings? One refrigerator or stove could easily cost you $400). I've never done this in KSA (and never will) - my housing has always been "provided" by the employer, so I can't really advise. But $400/month sounds extraordinarily low - I think my Kerala driver's housing allowance is at this level and I believe he shares with at least 3 others. (Another reason I made KSA my career - an aversion to paying rent).

As I said, you have to provide many more details to get a response that will actually help you.

I'll be blunt, it's rubbish. You can get a lot more than that in Oman and have a much nicer lifestyle.

Some bearded fundies from Bradford would jump at this offer, which is why reputable Saudi institutions shy away from them !
