hi,
i got a couple of job offers from turkey.
the first one is from an institute caller OXFORD AS ACADEMY. Has anyone ever heard of them,or worked with them. they are offering 2500-3000 TL a month, with a 10 month contract.
do the language schools in turkey generally stick to the terms of the contracts,or do they just change the terms whenever they feel like it?
any experiences and suggestions would be appreciated..
thanks |

Hi Jiten,
Your questions have been discussed / debated at length thru out this board so you would be wise to take the time to read thru much of it. Even though many posts are somewhat dated, change can be painfully slow to come to Turkey so many are still relevant, plus things have not necessarily been on an "upswing" the past couple of years. You can also get a better feel for the place by reading a couple of the politically motivated English language Turkish newspapers such as Todays Zaman or The Hurriyet Daily News. Keep an eye on the value of the Lira as well, especially if you will be paid fully in TL as it has lost more than 50% of its value in the last 3 years while salaries and benefits have remained more or less stagnant. |
