If China's air is 'polluting the rest of Asia' why is Japan virtually pollution free? |

I beg to differ. Back in February 2014, Bloomberg reported that' Tokyo air pollution climbs and approaches government alert levels'.
There were 98 micrograms per cubic metre of the PM2.5 in Nerima ward, and 88 in Minato. People were advised to wear N95 masks as these levels are 3 times more than the WHO's recommended levels. |

I am sure it is explained in the video. I am sure the air currents and geography of the region have to do with it. |

You can beg what you want. The latest pollution maps say that Japan hasn't got the pollution levels of either China or South Korea therefore, it can't be China polluting the region. |

South Korea and Japan do not have the same levels of pollution - Busan is something like 90 miles away from Fukuoka, therefore, if China was polluting Korea, it would also pollute Japan, makes sense to me. |

Korea is a vile, polluted dump at the best of times anyhow. The crap from China and Mongolia is just the icing on the cake. I cleaned as much dust from the floor and black shit from the windows in the ROK as I ever do in China, and that was even when the winds weren't blowing in from the PRC. Even a decade and a half ago - before it was de-rigueur to blame China for everything.
Too many cars, too many factories. Places like Ansan and parts of Incheon get just as grimy as 90% of China. The sky rarely blue, the moon always yellow. Even my asthma was miles worse in "the Korea".
Laughing today sitting in Jiangsu with the AQI sitting on a fairly respectable 70 to read people in Korea bitching on facebook about it being 380 or so there. Nice to be able to reciprocate the snide Hankyoreh-esque digs and tell them maybe they should come west to get some fresh air, LOL.
The PRC is no saint to have in the region, but it's about time the Koreans actually grew up and accepted some responsibility for their own downsides rather than playing the whole xenophobia angle and blaming their neighbors for everything....supposed to be a developed, mature democracy already - time to act like one. |
