The cities deemed the safest, Five of the Top 20 are in the US.

Agree - or not?

It's surprising that Toronto ranks so high for N. America. Its traffic is such hell that I think it's rather dangerous, never mind mall shootings and lone wolf terrorists - and Rob Ford & family Laughing

Pretty much agree with the Euro list.

I've actually been to very few of those cities. I'm surprised, however, that non of the major cities in New Zealand made the list.

North America had some odd choices. Hard to believe that LA, New York, or Washington, D.C. are safer than, say, Des Moines, Iowa or Lincoln, Nebraska.

My hometown is safer than all those places, if you avoid the meth freaks that is.

Considering health and safety were criteria items, keep in mind that meth addiction and access to treatment is a huge issue in rural areas and smaller metropolitan cities in the US.
