So they ask me for an interview on Skype. I am there... they dont show up... I email them and they say they were busy and want to reschedule. I agree and show up a few days later and again they dont. A couple of days of later they log on to skype and delete me.
Unprofessional. |

I concur with you. The ones that piss me off are those that interview you then don't bother to get back to you with either a yay or nay! I won't name names just yet. |

Can you show us any logs that indicate that this is true? I mean, you're going online and badmouthing some organization I never heard of, but if you're going to do so and expect people to take your side, then it's time to pony up and be able to support it. We've gotten into a sad state in this world where anyone thinks they can post anything about anyone without substantiation. Especially here, where self-proclaimed blacklisters roam and want intervention against supposed bad employers. Well, anyone making negative comments needs to be able to support their accusations in my opinion. |

This is the norm right throughout China, and Chinese/Confucian cultures everywhere. Once they are done with you, they are done. You are a nothing. So why would they get back to you? I have actually attended two interviews where I flew in from overseas, one time at my own expense. Same thing. They couldn't even be bothered getting back to me. Other highly professional jobs I have applied for have required the creation of extensive curriculum, with the same result. For example, I applied for a job as a visiting scholar at Zhejiang university. Took me about fifty hours to design a curriculum, research and teaching plan. Result? No response.
It tells you a lot about employer-employee relations, and also about the lack of a civil society. |

I almost went to work for Worlda in 2011, but they screwed up the paperwork and told me three days before I was due to fly out that it would be another eight weeks before I could start work. I'd quit my job, apartment and sold up my worldly goods, so I came over anyway and got a better job with another company. I'm glad in the end, because I've heard a lot of negative stuff about them. They seem to be one of those companies that farm you out to public schools, so you can end up commuting all over Guangzhou each day in order to make up your teaching hours. |
