A long time ago I used a green course book for Arab, beginner learners. Was it called 'English for Arabs'?

Some pages were in English and some Arabic if that jogs anyone's memory.

FAILING THAT, HAS ANYONE GOT ANY REALLY LOW LEVEL LINKS?

"English for Arabs" published, yanni, by Longman. It was hard work teaching at that level !

The one illustrated above is at a higher level !

This one was at a lower level than English Please. Might be the one you are looking for.

Ya ahki- Kitab Akhdar ! Some of mine never did get the name of the book, so used the Arabic to describe its colour ! I think I caught some of their inability to remember !

May the Lord be praised that I have escaped from all that ! Al Hamdulillah !

How is anything a lower level than "non-alphabet" beginners? I think the English Please series has been expanded since you guys used it?

If I remember correctly, it explained everything in Arabic .
If you need something to use later to teaching basic reading skills, the following is pretty useful:

For just about any text I've ever needed, I found it on Amazon dot com. Getting it to me was, at times, a problem, however.

I think you're probably referring to Basic English for Arabs:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Basic-English-Arabs-Students-General/dp/0175560307/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1429420045&sr=8-1&keywords=basic+english+for+arabs

Not the best text book, but it can be useful for teaching absolute beginners/basic literacy.

Hope this helps.
