So my husband and I are looking to relocate to the Middle East. The location will be determined by where he finds a job but we are looking mostly at Saudi, Kuwait, uae & Qatar as options. I myself have just finished a BA in English lit and have an in class Tesl cert. I have been teaching Esl at a k-6 level for 3 years. I am looking for advice as to what I should do to secure the best job prospects. What would be available with my experience ? Would it be beneficial to do my masters, and what would be the most relevant degree? Where would you recommend doing it? I have a child so moving to another country other than where I am going to be located is not an option. I suppose I am looking at doing an online degree or whatever is available in universities in the Middle East. Advice please ???? Thank you!

Since you have no clue where you'll be, it's best that you wait until you arrive in the ME to see what job you might get as a trailing spouse.

By the way, if you plan on doing an MA online, be aware that it won't be recognized by the governments of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

In KSA.........Trailing spouse....local contract.......SR4000 a month.
MAYBE a teeny bit more.

Not sure that an MA would help

In some ME countries the financial benefits of a Masters don't kick in until you have several years post - Master's experience. Four in Oman for example.
