I want to make people aware of the conditions in Albania. I have worked here since September. For anyone considering coming here you should only do so if you are employed by an University or one of it's official adjunt centers. Most others are fly by night operations where the pay is low and often late. This is not just my experience, but those of other native speakers I've surveyed.
Even the British Council here is not as it is in other European countries.
But by all means beware of the American Training Center. They recently forced their entire Tirana staff to resign because they had the temerity to complain over their overdue salaries.

If anyone has any other information, please submit.

ATC! The very outfit that has a recent advertisement posted. I notice that they do not mention the salary. Perhaps because there is none?

What are the salaries like in Albania? And what qualifications are needed to work at a university there? Do they require a masters degree or is a CELTA and Bachelors acceptable?
