Hi Everyone,

1. From what you are telling me, it sounds like online Master's are fallible. Some places, like Saudi, won't accept them.

So, is the only way to take time off full-time paid work, and go for full-time school?

2. As for my goals, I'm into pay. Quite simply, I want the most pay per hour. I'm guessing Saudi would be my best bet?

Before you all cast me as greedy; I will say I tutor a lot, for free, on the side. So, it's not about money. But, work definitely is.

I don't know why you started a whole new thread, but anyway...

None of the posters in your other thread implied nor stated that online MAs are "junk." That seems to be your opinion and not that of others.

Well, then correct me. What's the most direct way to:

1. Advance my skills

2. Get more higher paying jobs

Since you seem focused on the Gulf, this is a no-brainer: Get an on-campus MA in TESOL if you want to teach in Qatar, KSA, Bahrain, and Kuwait. The UAE presently accepts online MAs, but there will be fewer teaching opportunities there by the time you graduate. Of course, there's Oman for teaching positions, but the pay is the lowest in the region.

Seriously, you're no stranger to TEFL in the Mid East, so this isn't anything you haven't read about before. Get the MA in TESOL. Problem solved.

I do know some who got online MAs and are now teaching in the UK at universities. No good for the Middle East. Some would argue that the years when you could accumulate large chunks of $$$$$$$$$$ by working in the ME are over.
