Hello,
I've been offered a position at INTERLINK. I've read some worrisome things about the place on the net, as well as some good things. One of the things I don't like is that I can't choose what city I would teach in. I'm not sure how good the money is at around 40K/year. Also, while they will pay for my wife and child to join me, they do not do tuition assistance, which means homeschooling.
I am wondering where I could apply and potentially be hired given my background, that would cover tuition for my kid. I do not have an M.A. I have a J.D. from a pretty decent school, a SIT TESOL certificate, and 4 years teaching experience, mostly in Asia, some in the U.S.
If I had a choice, I'd end up in Jeddah, as I have friends there.
Any advice or opinions would be gratefully accepted.
Best,
R |

If it's anything like my company, there is most probably a huge waiting list for people wanting to live in Jeddah, as that's the most desirable place in the Kingdom to live. I think my company has a 3 year waiting list...could be wrong though. |

Unfortunately, you'd need a TEFL-related MA and tertiary-level EFL teaching experience in order to qualify for those better-paying positions that provide tuition allowance. Continue to apply to job ads to see if other companies will at least offer you more than $3333 US per month. |
