I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but from what I've seen in recent times, it's VERY difficult to get non EU nationals into the EU (UK especially for some reason) and then be able to work. Several of my friends have married EU/UK nationals, and some have spent years battling deportation for reasons X Y and Z.

So please do be careful, and good luck Smile

On the other hand I know several US citizens who are working in France as auto-entrepreneurs so it can be done.

Yeah, fair point. I know a Ukrainian who even got a UK passport within 3 years no problem. So, yeah, depends...pot luck I suppose.

"Pot luck" ? I do not think so. There are rules but they are difficult to interpret.

Lots of info at

http://britishexpats.com/

Be prepared for more than a few "Colonel Blimps" with ultra-jingoist ideas about Johnny Foreigner.

Xenophobia and jingoism is the speciality of little Englanders. Us Scots reserve our bile exclusively for anglo-saxon imperialists.

And Eng-er-land will have to make do with a much reduced share of North Sea oil and gas revenues. There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth south of the border.

Where I live we specialise in Psittacophobia. Some of my best friends come from Enger-land.
