Vegans do not have it easy in KSA. One family who were here left after developing medical problems as a result of a diet deficient in the goodies we all need. I met another one at British Aerospace who actually tried to talk me into accepting that "eating honey is exploitation of the bee". He was shipped home as a pyschiatric case.

Poor worker bees should unionize. They've been paid with empty promises and forced to work 12-hour days building endless honeycombs in the 50-degree sun. Some are so desperate they've been known to buzz themselves into the path of oncoming owls just to get honey-money sent back to their hives in Pakistan. It's an outrage and we shouldn't eat honey. I recommend real maple syrup for the pancakes since those New England trees don't really miss the sap that much in the cold and it doesn't hurt much either. And put synthetic jelly on your toast.

Dear scot47,

Church of Scotland, aren't you?

The Church of Scotland, often known as The Kirk, is recognised in law as the national church of Scotland.

Regards,
John

Johnslat

You know my theological position as well as anyone. If in doubt read about the guy who I do NOT want to be - in Holy Willie's Prayer.

It seems that housing at KFUPM is a common drawback. But there's been constant talk that it's going to get better. Has it? Particularly for unaccompanied teachers?

Do the apartments at least have windows for some natural light? A television? Preferably one that isn't a large box.

Also, if unaccompanied teachers become accompanied teachers is it easy to make the switch to the better digs?

Provide your own TV. Accommodation for single status teachers can be basic. No problem in upgrading if you show up with a wife.
