If you have a bachelor's degree, a TEFL, and some experience, some "international" schools will hire you. |

| If they need the teachers they will relax qualification requirements.....franchised overseas unis are the same ..the need of warm bodies trump all...lately I have received a sh*t load of offers..(although it is tempting .. (I am convinced that my future is not reflected in the dull and cell phone game weary eyes of the fat little piglets of the revolution).. I think the teacher shortage has revealed itself and now is a good time to increase salary requirements on the part of FT's to maximize advantages ..... those left in the "catbird" seat could make bank in the next few years til the bottom finely falls out .... at the present schools think they need FT's and until they wake up and find out that white faces are replaceable by another working model of instruction and marketing, the cities are open to the nomad. |

You are right to put international in quotes.
For OP and others with registration and classroom exp the only internationals are the ones which cater for expat kids and wealthy locals. Those that tag their name 'international' for marketing purposes are no better or worse than other privately owned schools.
The state schools which have an international outlook generally style themselves as 'Foreign Language Schools/Unis'.
A former student attended a FL High School in quite a small (relatively) town and it had a couple of native speaker FT types. |
