Hello,

I am looking for information on Tsukuba city and I can't seem to find anything in my travel guide.
Shocked
The approximate size (pop.), places of interest, shopping, historical sites, hiking or bicycle trails, martial arts club (preferably Judo) and last but not least nightlife.

Thanks for any info

Have never been there, but from reports from people who have...

historical sights: none
places of interest: none
nightlife: none

It is a pretty sterile place to live.

If it's the same Tsukuba that I'm thinking of (in Ibaraki prefecture) then I've never been there but I've heard about it from my students.
From what I hear, there is mostly hi-tech, scientific and industrial stuff going on there and not much else. My students are scientists who work for a chemical company and regularly go there to one of their reseach facilities.

I live close to tsukuba in Ibaraki, and I have only been there to climb Tsukuba mountain.

There is a lake near, and I hear the Space centre is there too.

It isnt too far from Tokyo really........maybe a few hours by train, so, not totally 'out there'.
