That could be good news to a friend of mine in the US has been considering a move to KSA in a year or two because his engineering degree focus is in solar energy. Yet, going solar is a slow-motion plan for KSA because the country doesn't see itself running out oil anytime soon. (According to a recent news article, Aramco discovered eight new oil and gas fields last year.)
On the other hand, the UAE has already started installing solar panels on top of residential buildings and Qatar claims the title as the region's solar energy producer. Perhaps the restructuring of Aramco will kick KSA into gear (http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/05/01/saudi-oil-aramco-idUSL5N0XS0BI20150501). |
