25k in Beijing with no housing is certainly not unheard of. Are winter and summer vacation paid? Need some more details.

Edit: let me change that a bit. A job offer of 25k with no negotiations is uncommon. Did you negotiate the salary? What are your quals?

Curious...

On one hand, it reads like a 419 scam. Something about the language (which I really should be able to put my finger on, but I can't) doesn't seem like it was written by a Chinese person.

On the other hand, I could see schools getting desperate right now, trying to find teachers for an immediate start after the summer (or for summer classes even). If it's an international department of a Chinese school, you will be required to teach a full schedule of English for Specific Purposes and exam prep - not your run of the mill general English coursebook stuff, so figure that into the high salary.

They seem to have supplied you with an address and phone number - can you check those out? Google (or even baidu!) the contact fetails and see what's up.

I was recently interviewed by Jordan.

The school seems alright, and they seem willing to pay high salaries. I don't believe it's a scam, however I did not take the position.

One red flag for me, is that in all communication Jordan omits his surname. He's says he's ex military and a Harvard grad. He also makes a point of telling new hires that he works everyday from 6am to 9pm.
